Hanna & John visit
July 31, 2008
While Christine and I were out on the tall ship, the rest of my family went out sailing on the little boat. Here's a few of their photos...
John & Hanna getting some sun on the way out
Olof is fishing, and Lukas works the helm with Erika navigating.
Ice cream and shade stop at Stora Kornö
the sheep roam almost free on this island
Later, they pay a visit to a field on Orust, where sheep share the space with....statues.
heavy?
This is also the site of some 90 graves, dating back to 500 B.C.
Ooo, a steam engine fair.
Since Swedes are raised to think and look after themselves :-) the sign does not say "Keep out of engine in motion, fatal injury may occur", but instead it simply says "Watch out for soot splatter"
Many old man, and lots of puff, puff, puff, puff.....
a steam-driven saw mill
My dad is checking out the kind of tractor he once had himself, back in -58.
And there's more...
The summer is hot, over 30 degrees (90°F)
Erika found an old wool carding machine

a smaller version of the carding machine
If you want Lukas in the picture, you'd better be fast...
...or he'll be gone by the time you push the trigger.
Christine, dad, Erika, me, Hanna, John...and Ludde.
We're now at my sister's summer house on Orust.
A glimpse of their smaller summer house, just nearby.

All gathered up again...it's not that often you've got the whole family together these days.
