Easter weekend
7 April, 2007
by Christine

Easter long weekend, and Hannes and I head up to Uddevalla for Easter lunch with his family.

But first, the weather calls for a walk.

The little pond in the woods is full of frog eggs, a sure sign that spring has arrived.

Soon-to-be-frogs

"Krokus", another clear sign that spring is finally here.

Along with "snödroppar" (snow drops)

And, of course, newborn lambs!

A few days earlier, Hannes got his turn signals stolen outside my apartment in Stockholm ... not so fun :-(

Scraping off the shipment information on the ex-american car's window screen ... more fun! :-)

Finally time for lunch, and we head even further out, onto Orust, to Hannes' sister's summer house.

It's an old house with a lot of "old Sweden" atmosphere
Here's the baking tray and baking utensils, probably used on a daily basis back then.

scrambling eggs on the old stove

Olof and Erik (Hannes' nephews) decorating the personal easter eggs that everyone is getting,
then you have to guess which one belongs to you.

Hannes and his dad enjoying the lunch

Afterwards, we take a walk down to "the blacksmith's house", a one-room cottage that belongs to the property, right on the water front.

Very cute!

Two Volvos next to each other ...!

In the evening, we drove over to Marie's place and watched a traditional easter fire (haven't done that in years!)
