Tall Ship 2004-8
August 8, 2004

Few things beat a quiet jog in the fresh summer morning.

better than morning coffee

A trip to Stora Kornö for me always includes a walk to the ocean side...I've always done that.

After leaving Kornö to the sound of old Swedish folksongs echoing through the marina, we make yet another swim stop out on the ocean...right by island 'Bonden'.

This is the warmest of all days, the surface water is easily a comfortable 22°C (72°F for those illiterates)

Erik takes Emily for a photo op row

Emma drying

This little fellow joine us for a few hours. With a wing span of 10cm (4"), he is the biggest I've ever seen.

The moire effect shows you the shape of the facet eyes.

we're certainly not the only tall ship on the Swedish west coast

Emma, Cissi and Karin present today's mash & meatballs lunch

On our way back in through the fjords to our final destintion Uddevalla, we take the ship through some proper cleaning.

Approaching the Uddevalla Bridge, also clearly visible from where I grew up...only it was built in 2000.

all luggage on deck for cleaning downstairs

Nisse seem happy about the week...and so were all of us!
Man, we had the greatest weather!

So...we offboard in Uddevalla, and T/S Britta sails away in the sunset, towards new adventures...

I pick up my stuff and head home...

Along my way, I spotted both blueberries, blackberries, lingonberries, and raspberries.
Yum. That tops off another great week at sea.
