Sail around Angel Island
September 4, 2004

While I'm mending the jib...

...Christof takes us out of Emeryville, and set course for the Racoon Straight.

It's the first real hot Indian Summer day, so everybody who owns a boat goes out on the bay today.

Good winds, we whisk up towards Tiburon and Angel Island in just a couple of hours.

Hot, windy...out sailing...perfect setting for a good book.

Christof is trying out his old SLR camera...things that almost get forgotten in the digital era!

And then...more reading...

...and reading.

The favourite spot, favourite setting, favourite weather...a pretty darn good day out here!

all smiles :-)

The Angel Island ferry may not be pretty, but it sure is popular.

sailboats are nearly timeless

within minutes, we were back down beneath the Berkeley Pier

Our day trip totalled about 14 nautical miles...in 6 hours.
Lots of tacking upwind, and some currents through the Racoon Straight (the passage between Tiburon and Angel Island).
