After Work Mission
June 25-26, 2003

After work on a regular Wednesday, we packed up our bags and set out east from Fremont.

We hit the trail head by 7.55pm, just a half hour before sunset.

It's a glorious evening, and Gamba leads the way up Mission Peak.

The southern trail is much greener than the north one, which is getting really brown already.

the sun setting behind San Francisco at 8.30pm

Yep, this is a good spot...with quite a view.

[dinner time]
fresh bread with cheese and salami, lots of fruit and wine

oh, and strawberries

Gamba keeping watch

Cozy...good night.

Gamba is the first one to get sun the next morning

hey...good morning!

the busy bay area below

packing up...not leaving a trace behind

heading up the remaining part to the top

through flourishing greens...and little creeks

This is my kind of morning...
[down there, they're all driving to work by now, stuck in gridlock on 880]

Not your average weekday morning: all alone at the top of Mission Peak

This is neat...every pipe is aimed towards some distant spot...

...what's in this one?

...Dumbarton Bridge!

Starting out downhill...back home again.

Gamba getting a nice bath...it's a whopping 105°F/41°C today!

-Just something different to do after work on a Wednesday.
